Attention Heritage Yards Teams (03/11/15)
Attention All Heritage Yards Spring Softball Teams:
As you are all aware, the Heritage Yards Softball Program has been able to play only a few nights of games due to the inclement weather since the beginning of our season on February 23. This delay has caused us to use our cushion of make-up slots at the end of the season for most leagues. Because it has been demonstrated in the past that teams have a hard time attending games that are rescheduled on Saturdays, we will be rescheduling cancelled games for most teams in the 10 pm time slot beginning the week of April 6. We will continue to schedule rain-out make-ups in this manner until we run out of space at 10 pm. This scheduling tactic is being employed to keep the spring schedule from conflicting with the beginning of the summer sports season, which begins on May 18.
Please be aware that lighting restrictions will cause us to turn off lights no later than 11:30 pm. 10 pm games that start late or approach the deadline may be subject to shorter game times or a drop-dead ending. Teams that play double headers in all likelihood will play three games a night on the night the rained out game is rescheduled. Teams that play only one game per night may have a second game re-scheduled to a date of one of their existing games for a total of two. A small number of teams will have to play a single game at 10 pm due to scheduling restrictions, but the staff has done all that can be done to minimize this occurrence.
Because the schedule may be subject to many changes in the future, DO NOT bookmark your website schedule or operate from a printed schedule. Changes to individual team schedules may occur to accommodate the league as a whole, which could impact your schedule. It is advised that you review your team's schedule on a regular basis to identify any changes that may occur.
