Weekly News (Feb 20 - 26)  

1. Dallas Masters Swim Meet is this Saturday, Feb 25. It will be at the SMU pool. New Swimmer orientation will precede the warm up. If this is your first meet or you just need a “swim meet refresher course” please join us in the bleachers at the shallow end of the pool 30 minutes before warmup at 10:30.  We will have our officials chair, Tom Osterland, there to explain the meet procedures, such as the “no false start rule” and what the whistles mean before the start of an event, and various other “protocol” for warm up and the competition – plus answer whatever questions you might have.
2. Who Can Enter USMS Nationals?
3. Online entry for the 2012 USMS Spring National Championship is now open. Online entries received by March 9 will receive a $10 discount on their entry fee, so be sure to enter early. The final entry deadline is March 23. Spring Nationals will be held in Greensboro, N.C. from April 26-29.
4. 2012 USMS Membership Registration is available on-line. You can print off your registration card as soon as your registration is complete. If you are interested in competing at any of the USMS swim meets during the year, now is the time to register. Included with your membership is a 1 year subscription to USMS Swimmer Magazine. There are some excellent articles and tips that will help you become a better swimmer and be more aware of the events you can participate in.
